Life at BOSS is about more than just learning English – it’s a complete experience that combines education, friendship, and adventure in a safe and inspiring environment. Set on our stunning 42-acre countryside campus in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, students live, study, and grow together as part of an international community. Every day is filled with opportunities to learn new skills, take part in exciting activities, and build lasting friendships with students from around the world.
With comfortable accommodation, outstanding facilities, a supportive House System, and a programme of sports, arts, and cultural excursions, BOSS offers a balance of structure and freedom that helps every student thrive. From the classroom to the sports field, from mealtimes to evening events, life at BOSS is designed to be fun, engaging, and unforgettable.
Our Team at BOSS
The strength of BOSS lies in our people. We invest significant time and care into selecting and training the best staff to work at our international summer school. Every member of the team takes part in an intensive three-day training programme covering all aspects of working in a school environment and supporting young learners, ensuring they are fully prepared to provide both excellent care and engaging lessons.
Our teachers are experienced, energetic, and passionate about helping students succeed, while our House Tutors and Leadership Team create a safe, supportive, and welcoming atmosphere on campus.
A lot of our staff return to BOSS every year, some for as long as 11 years. This continuity means your child is cared for by a dedicated team that has dealt with every situation a summer school can bring – and can guarantee a safe, structured, and unforgettable experience at BOSS.
Eco-Friendly Campus
At BOSS, we believe that education goes hand in hand with respect for the planet. Our eco-friendly campus encourages every student to learn about sustainability and understand the importance of caring for the environment around them.
We use biomass boilers and solar panels across the estate, reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring that much of Buckswood’s energy comes directly from the power of the summer sun. By living and learning in this environment, students not only enjoy a greener campus but also gain a greater awareness of how their choices can make a positive difference.
Health & Safety
Student wellbeing is our top priority at BOSS. We have a health centre and a fully equipped accident and emergency department just 15 minutes from campus, ensuring quick access to professional medical care if ever needed.
To provide an additional layer of safety, all BOSS staff are First Aid trained and complete a certified safeguarding course, giving parents peace of mind that students are always in safe hands.
