Health at BOSS
At BOSS, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority. We have clear procedures to make sure every child is cared for quickly and professionally if they feel unwell during their English summer school in the UK.

What to do if a student feels sick
All students are instructed to tell a member of staff immediately if they do not feel well. That staff member will excuse them from class or activities and ensure they go straight to the BOSS Office, where our team can provide support.
Medical care at the BOSS Office
In the BOSS Office, we have a supply of basic medicines for common, mild illnesses such as headaches, colds, or stomach upsets. Our staff will administer medicine safely and give the student time to rest until they feel better.
Doctor and hospital care
If a student is too unwell to be treated on campus, we arrange an appointment with our local doctor, located only 15 minutes away. For more serious or emergency situations, we take students to the nearest hospital with an Accident & Emergency department, also just 15 minutes away. We always follow the doctor’s or hospital’s instructions carefully.
Contacting home
Sometimes students may call their parents to say they are not feeling well. If this happens, please remind your child to report to the BOSS Office immediately so we can look after them properly.
Parents can feel confident that at BOSS their children are in safe hands. Our experienced staff provide excellent student health and safety care at summer school, ensuring every child receives the right support, whether it is simple rest and medicine or professional medical treatment.

Health Questions & Answers
Do you cater for allergies and special diets?
Yes. All allergies and dietary requirements are recorded before arrival and carefully managed on campus. This ensures safe and healthy dining for all students during their international summer school experience.
What about prescription medicine?
Only medicine prescribed by a doctor may be brought to BOSS. All prescribed medication is collected on arrival and stored securely in the BOSS Office or with house tutors. Staff administer the medicine at the correct times to ensure safe medical care for boarding students.
Is there a nurse on campus?
We do not have a full-time nurse, but our trained staff can deal with minor illnesses and first aid. For anything more serious, students are taken to a local doctor or UK hospital straight away.
Will parents be informed if a child is sick?
Yes. Parents are contacted if their child needs to see a doctor, go to hospital, or if there are any ongoing concerns about their health. Communication is a key part of our student welfare policy.
How far is medical care from the campus?
Our local doctor and the nearest Accident & Emergency hospital are both just 15 minutes from BOSS, ensuring fast access to UK healthcare for international students.
