What to Bring

To make preparing for BOSS easier, here is a list of the most important things to pack. This checklist will help students feel comfortable, prepared and ready for every part of their stay.

  • Credit or debit card – safer than carrying large amounts of cash

  • Water bottle – to reduce waste and avoid disposable cups

  • Flask for hot drinks – also to cut down on disposables

  • Toiletries and towels – personal hygiene essentials

  • Pyjamas and relaxing clothes – for sleeping and downtime

  • Everyday clothes – comfortable outfits for daily use

  • Sportswear – for a wide range of sports and activities

  • Outdoor/creative clothes – suitable for nature walks, art sessions, or the Colour War

  • Smart clothes – for discos and special events

  • Swimwear – for the pool or beach (not needed for the Spring Experience)

  • Waterproof coat and umbrella – British weather can surprise you

  • For the Spring Experience – warm layers, coat, hat, scarf, gloves, waterproofs

  • Travel adaptor – for phone and device chargers

  • Pens and pencils – for use in class

  • Backpack – to carry personal items on excursions

Good to know: Bed linen and towels are provided at BOSS, and all course materials are included, so there is no need to bring extra.

What Not to Bring

To keep everyone safe and to avoid confusion, there are certain items that should not be brought to BOSS:

  • Unprescribed medicine – Only medication prescribed by a doctor is allowed on campus. All medicine will be collected on arrival and stored safely in the BOSS Office or with house tutors, who will administer it as needed.

  • Valuables – Expensive jewellery, gadgets, or large amounts of cash are not necessary.
