Meeting Parents Where They Are
As the year slows down and the festive season begins, many parents find themselves reflecting on what lies ahead for their children. It’s a time of planning, hope — and a little worry. If you’re thinking about summer school for 2026, you're not alone. This guide is written to meet you where you are — thoughtful, caring, and searching for the best fit for your child. We’re here to offer gentle reassurance, not a sales pitch.

Safety and Supervision Come First
When it comes to choosing a summer school, nothing matters more than knowing your child is safe.
At Buckswood Overseas Summer School (BOSS), supervision is constant. Our experienced staff are available 24/7, and all students are carefully supported from arrival to departure. The campus is secure, with trained staff in place to ensure your child is always safe and cared for.
We believe in open communication. If you have a question — before or during the programme — we’re here to answer it.
Strong Pastoral Care and Clear Structure
Structure helps children feel calm and confident. At BOSS, each day is thoughtfully planned. From morning lessons to afternoon activities and evening events, students always know what’s coming next.
Our pastoral care team makes sure every child is seen, heard, and supported. Teachers, House Tutors and our leadership team are chosen for their warmth, responsibility, and experience. We focus on making students feel at home — especially those who are far from home.

Confidence and Wellbeing Before Academics
We believe that before any learning happens, children need to feel settled and supported. A summer school should never be just about the classroom — it’s about building confidence, making friends, and feeling good in a new environment.
BOSS creates a community where students can be themselves. We support their emotional wellbeing and help them adjust, step by step. A confident child is open to learning — and to enjoying the experience fully.

Real Outcomes, Not Empty Promises
Summer school should leave a lasting impact. Not just brochures and big promises — real, meaningful outcomes.
At BOSS, students leave with more than improved English. They build independence, learn teamwork, develop cultural awareness, and grow as people. These are skills that last a lifetime.
We encourage parents to look beyond marketing. Ask about student stories. Look for honesty, not hype.
Why Feeling Happy and Settled Unlocks Learning
Learning happens best when children feel happy, safe, and included. That’s why we focus on comfort and belonging from day one. New experiences can be exciting, but they can also be overwhelming — and that’s okay.
Our team knows how to support students gently through this transition. Once they feel settled, the magic happens. Their confidence grows. They connect. They learn. And they thrive.
