Buckswood Overseas Summer School (BOSS) is ready for 2026 with even more to look forward to. Our courses continue to combine English learning, leadership development, and unforgettable experiences on our countryside campus near Hastings, England.

Whether you’re returning, recommending, or discovering us for the first time, here’s a full summary of what’s new and what’s waiting for you.

Spring and Summer Courses

We offer two main programmes each year, both designed for students aged 8 to 17.

  • The BOSS Spring Experience (29 March – 12 April 2026)

A two-week course that welcomes students from around the world to improve their English, take the Trinity College London GESE exam, and enjoy a full programme of activities and excursions in the English countryside.

  • The BOSS Summer School (28 June – 16 August 2026)

Our flagship course offering English lessons, the Young Leader Award from the Leadership Skills Foundation, sports and creative options, and excursions to cities such as London, Brighton, and Canterbury.

Both programmes are full-board, include laundry service, and take place on our beautiful Buckswood campus in Guestling, close to Hastings and in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Leadership and Learning

At BOSS, language and life skills go hand in hand. Every student studies English through the Trinity College London ESOL exam, gaining an internationally recognised certificate. Alongside that, our Young Leader Award helps students build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills — preparing them for school, university, and beyond.

This combination of English learning and leadership training is what makes BOSS one of the best summer schools in the UK countryside for personal growth.

Activities and Social Life

Every day at BOSS is full of movement, creativity, and connection. Students join sports, arts, and team challenges, and take part in themed evenings, talent shows, and cultural nights.

For those who want to go further, we offer optional academies in Football (Pro2Pro), Tennis (Break Point Coaching), and Horse-Riding (Buckswood Stables).

The BOSS Reunion I

New for 2026 is The BOSS Reunion I, our first ever event for former students aged 18 and over. This 3-night course will take place on campus and bring together past BOSS students to reconnect, celebrate, and relive their BOSS experience — complete with social events, campus activities, and time to reflect on how far everyone has come.

It’s a celebration of what BOSS stands for: learning, belonging, and lifelong connection.
