Skills for Life: BOSS Future Skills and the BOSS Big 50
School is important. But some of the most useful skills are learned outside the classroom.
This week, we are looking at BOSS Future Skills and the BOSS Big 50.
What are BOSS Future Skills?
Future Skills help students build the skills they will need beyond school. They run alongside our weekly Leadership Projects.
Students build them through:
Debates: sharing ideas and speaking with confidence, in English
Event planning: planning real events on campus, step by step
The BOSS Big 50: fifty short challenges (more below!)
Along the way, students learn to plan, communicate, work in a team and lead others. Then they prove it by running real events on campus.
All of this sits within 5 hours of leadership training a week, working towards the Young Leader Award from the Leadership Skills Foundation.
What is the BOSS Big 50?
The BOSS Big 50 is a list of fifty short challenges to complete during the course. They are designed for all students and open to every age, from 8 to 17.
Students tick them off, one by one. Some finish lots. Some finish a few. Every challenge completed is a step forward.

The BOSS Spring Experience: 28th March to 17th April 2027. Book by Sunday 28th February 2027.
The Great British Summer Experience: 27th June to 14th August 2027. Book by Thursday 27th May 2027.
