The world feels heavy right now. Many families are dealing with things that are much bigger than a hot summer. We understand that. We see it every year in the faces of students who arrive at BOSS carrying more than just a suitcase.
But whatever your family is going through, one thing we believe deeply is this, your child deserves a place where they can breathe, feel safe, and just be a young person for a few weeks.
That is what BOSS is. And this summer, it matters more than ever.

A Place Apart
Buckswood Overseas Summer School is in the High Weald, a special protected area of natural beauty in East Sussex, England.
There are no busy streets here. No noise. No reminders of the difficult world outside. There are green fields, tall trees, fresh air, and open countryside. The coast is very close, so there is always a cool breeze. It is a calm, beautiful, safe place, and for many of our students, it is the first time in a long time that they have truly relaxed.
This is not just a summer school. For many young people, it is a place to recover, recharge, and remember what it feels like to be a child.
Cool When the Rest of the World is Hot
There is also something more simple to enjoy this summer, the weather.
Many cities around the world are extremely hot right now. It is uncomfortable. It is difficult to sleep, to study, to enjoy being outside.
At BOSS, it is different. The High Weald is cool and green even in the middle of summer. Students are outside every day, playing sports on the grass, sitting together after class, enjoying the fresh air. When it is 38 degrees in your city, it is cool and comfortable here.
Nature also helps students learn. Studies show that being close to green spaces reduces stress and helps concentration. Everything about this place is designed, by nature, to help your child feel well and do well.
What Your Child Will Gain
At BOSS, students have 20 hours of classes every week. Classes are small and international. Teachers are qualified, experienced, and caring.
If your child stays for two weeks or more, they will take the Trinity College London Spoken English Exam. A real, internationally recognised qualification. This spring, every single BOSS student passed. They leave with something in their hands that the world recognises.
New for 2026, students staying two weeks or more will also work towards the Leadership Skills Foundation Young Leader Award, a programme that builds confidence, teamwork, and communication. Skills that stay with a young person long after summer is over.

A Typical Day at BOSS
Students wake up in comfortable accommodation surrounded by nature. In the morning, there are English lessons, practical, fun, and taught by great teachers.
In the afternoon, there are sports, creative activities, and house competitions. Students make friends with young people from more than 20 countries. They discover that despite where they come from, they have so much in common.
Then there are the excursions, Leeds Castle, Harry Potter Studios, Brighton, London. Students see England properly and make memories they will never forget.
In the evenings, there are themed nights, discos, and shared meals. There is a lot of laughter. Students feel at home — often for the first time since they left.

Less Than Four Weeks to Go
Summer 2026 starts on 28th June. There are still places available in July and August, but not many.
If you have been thinking about this, we hope this helps you decide. We know the world is complicated right now. We know sending your child away takes courage. But we also know what happens here every summer, and it is something very special.
Your child deserves this summer. We would love to give it to them.
