Many families find the perfect summer school at the last minute. Life is busy. Decisions take time. And sometimes you need to see that spaces are still available before you feel ready to book.

If that is you, this is good news: there are still places at BOSS for July and August 2026. But we open on 28th June, which means there are less than three weeks left to get everything organised. Flights, transfers, packing, paperwork. The sooner you book, the easier everything will be.

This blog will tell you everything you need to know about BOSS and why it could be exactly the right summer school for your child.

What Is BOSS?

BOSS is Buckswood Overseas Summer School. We are an international English language summer school in East Sussex, England, for students aged 8 to 17.

Every summer, students from more than 30 countries come to our campus in the High Weald, one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of natural beauty in England. They improve their English, make new friends, go on incredible excursions, and grow as people.

We have been running summer programmes for many years. We are British Council accredited. Parents trust us, and students love it here.

What Will My Child Actually Do?

Every day at BOSS is full. Here is what a typical day looks like:

Morning: 20 hours of lessons every week in small, international classes with our amazing teachers. Learning that is practical, fun and effective.

Afternoon: Sports, creative activities, house competitions and clubs. Students choose what they enjoy. Find out more about what clubs are at BOSS.

Evenings: Themed nights, discos, shared meals and time with friends from all over the world.

Excursions: During their stay, students visit some of England's most famous places, including Leeds Castle, the Harry Potter Studios at Warner Bros., Brighton and London. See the full summer activity and excursion programme here.

What Will My Child Achieve?

A summer at BOSS is not just fun. It is also a real investment in your child's future.

Every student who stays for two weeks or more will sit the Trinity College London Graded Examination in Spoken English. This is a globally recognised qualification. This spring, every single BOSS student passed. Your child will leave with a certificate that means something.

New for 2026, students staying two weeks or more will also work towards the Leadership Skills Foundation Young Leader Award. This programme builds confidence, teamwork, communication and leadership skills. These are exactly the qualities that schools and universities are looking for.

Is It Safe? Is It Well Organised?

Yes. Completely.

BOSS is British Council accredited. We have 24-hour care on campus. Every student is known by name. Our safeguarding team, house tutors and welfare staff are always present.

We even practise fire drills so that students know exactly what to do in any situation. See our post about safety at BOSS to see how important it is to us.

For families who are worried about sending their child abroad, especially right now when the world feels uncertain, we want you to know: your child will be safe here. Completely safe.

What Do Students Say?

Do not just take our word for it. Watch Rayan's testimonial video. Rayan came to BOSS from Saudi Arabia and shares honestly what the experience was like for him.

We also asked our students: "What would you tell someone who is thinking about coming to BOSS?" Watch their answers here.

Places Are Going Fast

We want to be honest with you. We have places available right now for July and August. But every week, more families confirm their bookings. The best weeks fill up first.

If your child is aged 8 to 17 and you want them to have a safe, structured, unforgettable English summer in one of the most beautiful parts of England, please do not wait any longer.

Book now and we will take care of everything else.
